what to expect

I believe art should be an important part of children's lives.  As your child's art teacher my goal is to enable them to be creative thinkers and problem solvers.  Throughout the school year your child will be introduced to a variety of art materials, techniques and processes.  We will be creating both two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces of art.  We will create drawings, paintings, prints and sculptures.  We will explore various art mediums such as pastels, charcoal, paint and much more.  We will explore art and artifacts from various historical periods and world cultures to allow the children to discover the role that art plays in their lives and in the lives of others.  I will help your child to see that art has value in their lives.  Your child will also learn to critically reflect upon, interpret and evaluate works of art, including their own.

     I will set ambitious goals and high standards for the children while making art lots of fun!

I hope my enthusiasm, creativity, and passion for art spills over to the children creating a pleasant art environment for all!
